AI Literacy NZ is dedicated to providing practical, high-quality AI literacy resources tailored for New Zealand schools. We believe that understanding and ethically engaging with artificial intelligence is crucial for students and educators alike.
Our Approach to Curriculum Alignment
Our writers and curriculum developers carefully cross-reference every lesson kit and resource with the New Zealand Curriculum, focusing on the Technology Learning Area (particularly Progress Outcomes 2 & 3 for Computational Thinking) and the draft Te Mātaiaho | the refreshed New Zealand curriculum content for Hangarau (Technology). We strive to ensure our materials are relevant, supportive of NZC goals, and easily integrated into existing teaching programmes.
While we are committed to aligning with national educational frameworks, AI Literacy NZ is an independent initiative. Our resources are mapped to the NZ Curriculum but are not officially endorsed by the Ministry of Education.
Our Mission
Our mission is to equip every Kura and classroom in Aotearoa with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence confidently and responsibly. We aim to foster critical thinking, ethical awareness, and practical skills that will prepare students for their future.
Get Involved
We are always keen to collaborate with educators, schools, and communities across New Zealand. If you have feedback, ideas, or wish to get involved, please contact us.
